Help Us Rebuild After a Devastating Fire

On the afternoon of Thursday, 24th April, a fire tore through our site, causing extensive damage to our workspaces, tools, and equipment. Thankfully, no one was injured—but the loss is immense, and the road to recovery will be long.

We are a community recycling charity dedicated not just to sustainability, but to creating meaningful employment, training, and support for over 100 people with disabilities. Our work transforms both lives and waste, fostering opportunity, purpose, and a circular economy.

The fire has left many of our team members—some of the most dedicated and resilient people you’ll meet—without the tools or safe spaces they need to work. Our services are currently on hold, right when our community needs them most.

· Support our disabled staff and volunteers during this crisis

· Secure a temporary location as we search for a new home

· Rebuild our workspaces and replace essential equipment

· Reopen our public recycling services

***About Insurance: The building was insured by the landlord. While Abilities Group have our own insurance coverage for equipment, there will be a shortfall. Some items weren’t insurable due to industry constraints. That’s why community support is so crucial right now.
