Aorangi Symphony Orchestra

Aorangi Symphony Orchestra

Donations welcome in the wake of a magical evening with "Poeme Heroique" held on 20th November in the Auckland Town Hall, to keep us going!

Auckland

We are FOR REAL: a serious but also friendly and supportive semi-professional orchestra, with the ratio of professional to amateur players being about 50/50.

People love our programmes; we give varied and interesting opportunities to players and soloists.

We are very well organised and businesslike, and our Board comprises just a handful of "idealists" who really want this to keep on happening.

More about us

With the trading name of the "Aorangi Symphony Orchestra" ,we are a symphony orchestra with an affiliated choir "The Aorangi Singers", which has operated as the Ensemble Polymnia Trust since August 2014.

Our Musical and Artistic Director is Sarah Bisley, a New Zealander who trained and performed in Europe and North America over a period of 25 years, before returning to her home country.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
