Asylum Seekers Support Trust

Asylum seekers are not migrants, who choose to resettle in another country, but asylum seekers are people who have been forced to leave their home country in search of protection. ASST works to create a safe and supportive environment for asylum seekers and convention refugees in New Zealand. We provide access to information, services and resources so that those seeking asylum may effectively pursue the determination of their refugee status and thrive in their new home. We also provide re-settlement support for individuals who have had their refugee status approved to help ensure successful integration into local communities. We are a very small organisation that relies on the general public for donations and support. We get no government support; your donation will enable us to make those new kiwis feel welcomed and prepare them to be members of our community who will participate and contribute.
