We need your help to raise the funds to build this purpose built ECE hub. We need to keep our children cared for locally.
Marlborough
Can you help us? The earthquakes of 2013 and 2016 severely damaged our Early Childhood facilities to the extent that one building has been demolished and the other two are uninsurable and non-sustainable.
We need your support for our fundraising campaign in order to build a multi-purpose, community owned and operated Early Childhood Educational centre. The new building will be home for the Awatere Playcentre, Awatere Early Learning Centre and Awatere Flaxbourne Plunket. Education, health, whanau care and support will be provided by these different services under one roof. Local early childhood care providers will be able to continue within the district, supporting local families and the wider economic community. These services are essential for the physical, social and economic wellbeing of South Marlborough - from the Dashwoods in the east to Kekerengu in the south, from the sea to the mountains.
The project commenced during 2017 following the significant earthquake damage caused from multiple events. After the exploration of many recovery options, we now have modern building plans drawn up and a community trust overseeing the building's development. This 2.1 million dollar project now has only a few hundred thousand to go and will support the community for many decades to come.
Your donation will make a big difference in the support the community can provide to the project and get us over the line to success!
Funds raised from this page will go directly to the Awatere Early Childhood (ECE) Trust to build and fit out this modern building facility.
To establish and operate a building facility for the use and benefit of the community of South Marlborough, with a focus on the education and health of young children.
