Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust

We inspire youths to believe in themselves and achieve their dreams they never thought possible. To give them hope.

Bay of Plenty

Our charity Bay of plenty Youth Development Trust has been established to provide positive change in the lives of our young people - rangatahi. To prevent them from becoming adults more likely to commit serious crimes and to break the generational cycle of family harm. Or just to give them general guidance in life.

We provide a fitness based service to young people . Which challenges and expands a young person’s horizons, perceptions, values, abilities and actions through: fitness training, education, social interaction and role modeling provided by our coaches and positive peer relationships in a safe environment.

Our gym which we are currently renovating will be a safe place where the kids feel at home. Where there will be trusted people they can talk to. With Renovations taking place now, for the last year Fitco has provided space for our team and the kids for training which we are forever grateful.

We work closely with schools, police and other community organisations. Our mentors are especially chosen for their ability to relate to youth, their passion to help others.

We provide a consistent and obvious presence in the community; giving the youth a place of refuge, getting them fit and healthy, opening their eyes to their own potential through self- discipline, good values and ultimately respect for themselves and others.

Please support us to help our youths.

More about us

We are 100% operating as a charity named The Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust has been established to deliver a programme for “at risk” youth in Tauranga using boxing fitness and mentoring through Tauranga boxing Academy as the vehicle. We support and mentor kids long-term and guide them to employment. Teaching them strong values and morals. The main social issues that our youth have problems today are family violence, deprivation, poverty, drug and alcohol misuse and lack of positive role models. Billy Graham has delivered this program successfully in Nae Nae and given so many kids hope and a better life.

We have a strong team supporting this charity including Head Coach - Henry Fa’afili a former professional league player. Support coaches include police and other strong intelligent role models. Please support our team and the 100s of kids that will be involved in our program.
