Aotearoa New Zealand is home to people from every corner of the world, drawn here by the hope of safety, opportunity, and a better life for their families. Yet, for many from migrant and refugee backgrounds, the journey to truly belong is not an easy one. It’s a path often filled with barriers, loneliness, and systems that weren’t built with everyone in mind.

Belong Aotearoa (formerly ARMS) was founded to help change that story. For over 20 years, we’ve stood alongside migrant and refugee background communities, supporting them to settle, find connection, and build a sense of home. Today, our work focuses on creating lasting, systemic change, tackling the root causes of inequity so that everyone has a fair chance to belong and thrive.
