Bay of Plenty

Thanks for being here on our page!

CCSDA Swim School is run by CCS Disability Action Bay of Plenty, a community organisation that supports people with disabilities and their families. All people of any age or ability are welcome at CCSDA Swim School.

Our Swim School has been recognised as a Gold Standard Quality Swim School.

Students pay a fee to attend swimming classes, which covers part of their swim coach’s fee, however, we need your help to maintain the pool and its surrounding area to make it easier for everyone to use.

If you can spare a few dollars we would be very grateful. Thanks for your support!

More about us

We are committed to creating communities that are good at including all people.

"We work with disabled people and communities...to ensure decisions are made by disabled people."

A large part of our role is supporting people with disabilities to be 'in the driver's seat' of their life, to achieve their own dreams and aspirations - by having the skills, confidence and resources to influence family, friends, colleagues, society and government.

With seventeen branches around the country, we provide frontline support and services, and create local awareness and education around disability issues.

The Bay of Plenty branch has offices in Whakatane, Rotorua and Tauranga and covers the area from Te Kaha on the East Cape to Turangi in the south through to Waihi Beach in the north. Our services are community based and we have staff working across our region providing a variety of services for disabled people.

Our National Office in Wellington is responsible for developing policy, setting and monitoring standards for the organisation and working with other organisations and government to change attitudes.

CCS Disability Action Bay of Plenty is an incorporated society and a registered charity, governed by a board and local committees. If you would like to know more about our values and the work we do, check out our website www.ccsdisabilityaction.org.nz .

Use of funds

Funds donated will be used towards ongoing maintenance and improvements of CCS Disability Action Bay of Plenty's pool and swim school area to make it a nicer environment and improve access for families and students.

This will include things such as improvements to our changing sheds, awnings and covers for the pool area, new toys and equipment to use with students during lessons and maintenance of fences, gates and pool equipment.
