We provide a conducive environment for people to contact, study and deepen their understanding of the Buddhist path.
The Centre provides a peaceful harmonious environment that can help many people to overcome suffering and achieve wisdom and happiness in their lives.
Chandrakirti Meditation Centre was founded and named in 1999 by our Spiritual Director Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche, who is widely recognised as one of the original great teachers who introduced Buddhism to the west. During a visit to the Chandrakirti Centre in May 2002, His Holiness the Dalai Lama consecrated the longlife stupa and named the new meditation temple "Nalanda Hall".
Serving our community for over 15 years 9 September 2016
Chandrakirti Meditation Centre has been serving, connecting and caring for our local community for more than 15 years. Each Sunday we offer a free meditation and public talk by Tibetan Buddhist Monk Geshe Tharchin, followed by a free vegetarian community lunch. Chandrakirti Meditation Centre promotes the values of love, kindness, non-violence and altruism and is welcome to all - all ages and backgrounds. Our Sunday morning program has been enriching the community, offering the space to feel calm, be uplifted and to enjoy a shared sense of community. Chandrakirti Meditation is a special place, please help us to continue to offer our weekly Sunday program, and keep building a positive world, week by week.
