Help us add 6 new disc golf courses in Canterbury this year. Your donation will make a real impact and help grow the sport!
Christchurch, Canterbury
We (Christchurch Disc Golf Club Incorporated) are a registered charity, founded to bring new disc golf courses to communities across Christchurch and Canterbury.
We expect to install some 6 new courses every year for the next 5 years (that's 30 new courses). Currently, we are installing 6 new courses (5 in Christchurch, 1 in Ashburton). We expect these 6 courses to cost over $150,000, the bulk of that coming from charitable trusts and foundations, supplemented by donations from corporates and local government. However, we know that these funding sources will not be quite enough.
We need your help to raise additional funds to make up for shortfalls. Your donations will have a direct impact on how quickly we can install the new courses.
We also have a growing maintenance burden for both existing and new courses, for which we ask your support.
Our goal is to get 4% of the population actively playing disc golf. With that comes the need for outreach (e.g. to schools, youth groups, older folk, charities supporting the disadvantaged). Outreach has a cost and your donation will make a direct impact and help grow the sport.
For larger donations (say $1,000 and up) please contact us directly (our Secretary Lorenne Botha) at christchurchdiscgolf@gmail.com
Christchurch Disc Golf is a registered Charity with the aim of installing new disc golf courses in and around Canterbury for the wellbeing of all players.
The assets purchased in order to host the Garden City Open 2023, will assist us greatly to continuing the Club's outreach work through disc golf, such as holding social events and supporting our front line workers (police and fire personnel). We also support the organisations who work with the underprivileged and mentally channelled.
