The Climax 1650 Steam Trust Board is the owner of steam locomotive Climax 1650. The Trust is part way through the restoration of the Climax locomotive, and intends to operate the locomotive on the Bush Tramway Club's heritage railway at Pukemiro Junction, Waikato, New Zealand.

We have spent over $150,000 and thousands of volunteer man-hours on the restore so far.

We need your donation to complete the restore and get the loco operational.

Update for 26/06/2014  26 June 2014

Work on the frame and engine are nearing an end. The frame is in John Pitcornfs workshop in Te Kuiti. John and Murray continue to progress the restoration of the frame, engine and bogies. The engine overhaul is now completed, with the following tasks completed: 1. Reassembled the complete engine unit 2. New crossheads, pistons, and piston rings have been cast and machined 3. Crosshead guides bored 4. Cylinders bored 5. Valve faces machined 6. All crankshaft and transverse shaft bearings remetalled and fitted John and Murrayfs workmanship is top quality, and we are looking forward to having the loco operational.
