The Creative Wellbeing Trust provides access to creative activity without barriers, to contribute to wellbeing across our communities.
Waikato
The purpose of the Creative Wellbeing Trust is to benefit the community by providing safe, creative spaces and activities for participants, to gain creative skills and improve wellbeing, friendships and connections. Particularly, but not limited to removing barriers to participating in creative arts for those who have age, ethnicity, diverse sexual orientation, socio-economic status or isolation as a barrier. In particular, The Trust will:
Provide, art and craft resources and creative specialists to guide participants,
Facilitate art retreats and workshops that will encourage personal growth and teach creative tools for wellbeing
Promote and empower wellness through engagement in creative arts exploration and
Create spaces that nurture a sense of community.
Dr Jeremy Mayall says: “To have the freedom to be part of creative activity is a human right. Creativity is an integral part of being human, and working toward a society where creativity is recognised as a priority need, and making it accessible to our communities, is a step toward societal wellbeing.” We see the purpose of the Creative Wellbeing Trust as putting this proverb into action by providing creative activity with no barriers, and we are committed to being part of this societal change across communities.
Donating to the trust will help cover the costs of running weekly workshops in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, contributing to happier, healthier communities.
We run FREE creative art workshops and art retreats to improve community wellbeing. We remove barriers to participating in creative arts for those who experience age, ethnicity, diverse sexual orientation, socio-economic status or isolation barriers.
