Can you explain 'appropriately trained and assessed'? There is no one 'standard' assessment tool or training pathway for 'Therapy' dogs in NZ or Internationally. Interested to know how the dogs you use differ from those working in other groups like Canine Friends?

DOGabled NZ is the first organisation in New Zealand working towards a certification in Animal Assisted Play Therapy™, through the International Institute for Animal Assisted Play Therapy® (IIAAPT).
In July 2019 key members of our team are heading to the USA to undertake the four day, level one AAPT workshop, subsequent to completing more than 100 hours study and 50 hours of on-line courses. In 2020 we will be working with IIAAPT to bring the first workshop of its kind to New Zealand.
