Hamilton Dress for Success

Dress for Success Hamilton empowers disadvantaged women to succeed, improving the quality of their life and that of their families.

Waikato

Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

We do this by addressing every phase of a woman's career. Whether she's unemployed and searching; recently employed and adjusting; or gainfully employed and succeeding, Dress for Success is there every step of the way on her path to self-sufficiency. This continuum of services, including our popular suiting program, was established to streamline this success journey, so that the women we serve may evolve into leaders in the workforce, as well as leaders in life, effectively and efficiently.

At Dress for Success we believe in a hand up, not a hand out. We mentor and support women to own their future and we provide the tools and opportunities to ensure every woman has the right to succeed.

When women are preparing for job interviews we suit them with a professional, head-to-toe interview appropriate outfit. When women secure employment we outfit them with a work appropriate capsule wardrobe to start off their work wardrobe. This ensures they are appropriately dressed to commence their new job, putting their best self forward right from the start.

When women are empowered, confident and happy they raise empowered, confident and happy families who prosper and are positively connected to their communities. Our approach changes the lives of families and contributes to addressing social issues.

While we receive generous donations of new and gently used clothing it costs Dress for Success Hamilton $225 to dress each woman.

Your donation can go a long way and make a difference for a Waikato woman and her family...

- $20 could buy a pair of shoes, a handbag or some cosmetics to build a woman's self esteem.

- $60 could buy a suit jacket or warm winter coat.

- $100 could buy a professional skirt or trousers and a blouse.

- $225 could buy a woman her entire top-to-toe interview outfit complete with accessories and hosiery. In addition when she achieves employment she will receive a professional work attire capsule wardrobe to kick start her working wardrobe and ongoing professional support services relating to employment retention and continued career development.

Thank you for taking the time to consider Dress for Success Hamilton in your charitable giving. It takes many people working together to build a prosperous community and we thank you for your part in helping us ensure every woman succeeds.
