Riding for the Disabled Dunedin

Our aim is to provide confidence, independence and well-being for people with disabilities through therapeutic horse riding year-round.

ABOUT US:

Dunedin RDA is a voluntary organisation which is run and managed by volunteers. We receive no government funding and rely on Grants, corporate sponsorship and generous donations from the community to keep the RDA operating.

RDA Dunedin runs either private or group sessions every day of the week during Terms 1 and 4 and supports over 50 riders per week with a wide range of disabilities.

THE MISSION:

This page has been set up to allow the public to contribute to building a practical indoor arena on the RDA grounds. This would allow private and group RDA sessions to go ahead in all weather and provide riders with an opportunity to ride all-year.

THE RESULT:

Currently RDA Dunedin sees 57 disabled riders a week during Terms 1 and 4, which is roughly 20 weeks of the year. We on average cancel 1/3 of sessions due to prohibitive weather. An indoor facility would allow RDA Dunedin to provide riding opportunities for clients during all 4 terms, about 44 weeks of the year. Providing more consistent therapy all year round is key to making substantial change in the lives our clients.

Every little contribution helps, we thank you in advance for your generosity
