Tackling Tall Poppy Syndrome to transform Aotearoa.
Nationwide
In New Zealand we have a culture of criticism (Tall Poppy Syndrome). E Tū Tāngata (Stand Together) is an initiative focussed on turning that around. Empowering people to build a culture where every person is valued.
Tall Poppy Syndrome is the idea that people who stand above the crowd should be cut down to size. Tall Poppy culture tells us that your success is a threat to mine. It influences the way we put others and ultimately ourselves down. This culture of criticism discourages us from standing up and being proud of our successes and accomplishments.
E Tū Tāngata is a mindset backed-up by practical interactive resources that seek to empower New Zealanders to change the way we think and speak about ourselves and others.
It would only take 10 percent of kiwis to adopt an E Tū Tāngata mindset to turn our culture of criticism around. So what are you waiting for? Support the work of E Tū Tāngata and become a Culture Shifter today.

We all want a culture where we celebrate each other's successes and champion one another in the pursuit of dreams and accomplishments. E Tū Tāngata, run by 24-7 YouthWork Trust, empowers people to build a culture where every person knows their own value and can champion others.
Your generous donation contributes to the development of free wellbeing resources for all New Zealanders. These practical resources are available from an online kete which can be used in schools, homes, community groups and workplaces throughout the country.
