More about us

Edmund Rice Camps have been running in Dunedin since 1991 and Auckland since 2002. We provide fun, laughter, new experiences and challenges for children in a loving, caring environment. Our camps provide a break for children who need a holiday from their family, financial or social circumstances. Our camps are completely run by volunteers and are unique because of their 1:1 ratios of leaders to children.

Use of funds

Run week long camps for children who need a holiday due to family, financial or social circumstances. Camps are typically 5 days, 4 nights and take up to a maximum of 30 kids on each camp. Edmund Rice Camps Auckland and Dunedin typically run about 4 camps each a year, meaning eight camps are run in total throughout New Zealand.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
