As with many things in life, good things take time. We have been working with the council since 2018, and we were so pleased to receive final approval in May 2021. Working Bees began in February 2022, and we are building the garden in phases. Phase one is complete, which involved site preparation, fences, a shed, storage area, and the first 3 garden beds.

We have grand plans to expand, and this is where you come in. Any donation received will go towards new garden beds, soil, equipment and other costs related to operating this garden. The bulk of the costs will be for the setup, and it will be cheap as chips to operate once this has been completed.

Forrest Hill Community Garden is a place to learn to grow organic food, and a place to get to know our neighbours. It will be a beautiful space, a learning space, a place to get stuck in, and a place to experience what community can really be.
