Fossil Bay School & Kindergarten

At Fossil Bay School and Kindergarten kindness, creativity and focus lie at the heart of our work. We offer kindergarten, primary and intermediate education that is based on the modern Rudolf Steiner curriculum; an education that is unhurried and screen-free. We honour the whole child as we nurture their curiosity, their innate love of learning and a fundamental respect for the natural environment and for each other.

We believe wholeheartedly that these are the qualities that will best serve our children in this fast-changing world, to the ultimate benefit of the greater community here on Waiheke and in the wider world in the years to come. Fossil Bay graduates are confident, compassionate, resilient children; with agile, academically prepared, future-ready minds.

While our kindergarten has been established for nearly 30 years, our school opened just four years ago. With only 10% of our funding for school coming from the government we need your support. We are looking for 50 generous friends who believe in our mission and the value of the education we offer at Fossil Bay. We would be immensely grateful for a two-year, weekly commitment of $15, $30, or $50, or an amount of your choosing.
