At Fossil Bay School and Kindergarten, kindness, creativity and a love of learning are at the heart of everything we do.

Nestled in the natural beauty of Waiheke Island, we offer a unique Steiner education that is unhurried, screen-free and deeply connected to nature. We nurture the whole child, encouraging curiosity, imagination, independent thinking and respect for one another and the world around us.

We believe these qualities matter more than ever. In a rapidly changing world, children need more than academic knowledge. They need resilience, creativity, compassion and the confidence to find their own way.

For nearly 30 years, our kindergarten has been part of the Waiheke community, and our school continues this educational journey through the primary years.

Why we need your support

As a small, independent school, Fossil Bay receives only a fraction of the government funding available to state schools. Our families make a significant financial commitment because they believe in the value of this education. But its benefits extend far beyond the children and families attending Fossil Bay. By nurturing compassionate, creative, resilient and independent thinkers, we are helping shape the people who will contribute to a better future for all of us.

By committing to a regular donation over two years, you can make a meaningful difference.

$15 a week – $780 a year

$30 a week – $1,560 a year

$50 a week – $2,600 a year

Regular donations are particularly valuable because they give us the certainty to plan ahead, support our teachers and provide a stable learning environment for our children.

Prefer to make a one-off gift?

If an ongoing commitment isn't right for you, a one-off donation can make just as meaningful a difference.

Here are some examples of what your generosity could help fund in 2027:

$3,500 – Classroom resources: Provide books, art materials, learning resources and equipment for a year of creative, hands-on learning.

$13,100 – A year of education: Make a gift equivalent to the annual school fee and requested donation for one Fossil Bay student.

$3,500 – Annual audit: Help cover the cost of our independent financial audit, supporting the transparency and accountability of our charitable trust.
