Greenhithe Riding For The Disabled Association Incorporated

For over 45 years Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled has provided therapeutic horse-riding for people in the community who live with a disability. We are situated in Wainoni Park North, Greenhithe.

We operate on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and have 33 riders in our programme. However, our waitlist has 38 riders!

Our individually tailored, goal-based riding sessions build emotional and physical strength and resilience and enhance and improve capability and capacity in our riders. They are delivered throughout New Zealand by our team of highly trained and trusted specialists who enable and support riders and their extended whanau

At Riding for the Disabled, we celebrate every individual’s unique abilities and focus on building capability, capacity and strength beyond the perceived limitations. The riders learn to move, adapt and succeed. This leads to a stronger sense of self that translates beyond the arena and into homes, schools and communities.

All funding other than rider contributions is through grants, fundraising, private sponsorship and donations.
