The Hauora Hokianga Trust was officially formed in 1993, making Hauora Hokianga one of the first community-run health organisations in New Zealand. We provide a wide range of health and social services, all free to our enrolled population.

Taumata Rongoā Services:

Taumata Rongoā provides treatment options that integrate traditional Māori healing alongside modern medical care. As part of this initiative, Hauora Hokianga has developed the Ara Rongoā Hīkoi Whakaora—a healing walkway around the hospital, designed as a natural space to support well-being and recovery.

All kai grown in the māra is shared with local kaumātua, kuia, and whānau in need.

Rongoā services embrace a holistic approach, recognising the deep connection between health, well-being, community, and the natural environment.
