Just Zilch

The tradition of Halloween, or Samhain, was once that a of feast prepared in celebration of the harvest. It was believed that at this time of year, the barrier between this world and the spirit world was at its weakest and on this night, ancestors could pass through to come and visit their living relatives. As such, offerings were prepared and left out for them. An extra place at the table was likewise set and a serving was left for them, but as the dead cannot eat, their portion was always gifted to the poor and hungry. Times have changed but our roots still bind us, let this donation help food find its way to the hungry and the needing.
