Otamatea Community Services

Otamatea Community Services

We are a passionate, community focused social service agency, working hard to improve the lives of the Kaipara Communities we serve.

Northland

Otamatea Community Services (OCS) is a service agency housed in the Maungaturoto Community House, located in Hurndall Street. Our hours are 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

Our vision is To empower community to create a safe and nurturing environment for all.

We started out as a small home-based service in Paparoa in the late 80s as part of a Government initiative to provide ‘Homebuilders’ community centres throughout the nation.

The agency is made up of professionals and a team of volunteers, including the Governance Board.

OCS is currently the largest professional social services agency in our rural district. We run a food bank and provide seniors with a monthly meal and an activities morning. Our primary service is to offer support for families in crisis or parents in need of education in situations where children are at risk from neglect or abuse.

We offer counselling with trained counsellors and offer the use of the house as a drop-in centre.

Our staff consists of trained and experienced professionals and a large group of volunteers.

We offer:

One to one, couple, and family/whanau counselling

Parent coaching for children; birth to teenage

Family support in the home.

Foodbank and Budget Support in conjunction with any or all of the above services.
