The recent storms and heavy rain of August 2022 has caused a lot of damage to the tracks and land of Kaipupu Sanctuary. We have contract a digger operator to clear the tracks of slips and fallen trees and fix the unstable areas around the predator-free fence. Quoted cost of this work is expected to be in excess of $8000. If you can help us get these repairs done so we can reopen the sanctuary to both visitors and volunteers before the coming tourist season we would be so grateful, and we can continue our work in restoring this peaceful and beautiful sanctuary.

This year we have ten rowi kiwi chicks at the Sanctuary, these kiwi are learning to live in the wild while also being protected from predators like stoats. We are very proud to be part of Operation Nest Egg.
