Thank you everyone who supported this fundraising effort. With over $1200 raised, it was a great day and it certainly raised our profile. Plenty of festival folk were talking about the "chicken feet" and were happy to support our Chinese Memorial Garden project. Our stall won 1st prize in the Community Stall competition, which was excellent. A special thanks to our volunteers from the Chinese community and Kumara, a great team effort.

  • Kumara - sharing our stories

      9 March 2015
    Main image

Sharing our stories with visitors is easy as a stroll around our village. Some feedback ....

“My wife and I are touring New Zealand and made a stopover yesterday at the Theatre Royal hotel in Kumara. Before dinner we took a walk across to the open space to look at the history boards. What a fascinating set of real life stories. We were enthralled by the people and times they depicted.

We would like to let you know how much we enjoyed reading them. Thank you so much for giving us and other visitors to Kumara an insight into the town's past. Absolutely fascinating.”
