Providing:

a safe walkway and cycleway linking the village centre in the west and the tourist attractions and residential areas in the east;

a safe vantage point for taking photos of the Church, mountains and lake;

a return to preserving the sanctity of the church and its environs;

a safe and viable attraction for the increasing tourist market.

This small group of locals have raised over $1,000,000 from sponsors, fundraising events and grants over 4 years. Stage 1, the construction of the piers, commenced November 2013 at a cost of $406,000. Stage 2, building the bridge proper will cost $810,000. $500,000 has been secured so far. More fundraising campaigns are in progress to ensure completion in 2014.
