Lifeline counsellors are trained to offer emotional support in times of crisis. The calls continue to be very complex, some common themes include: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, abuse/violence, mental illness, life direction, suicide and loneliness. We are able to provide services to mobile calls and also people from more isolated areas.

Lifeline has been operating in Christchurch for over 50 years, assisting those in our community who would not be in a position to receive standard counseling through other services. All calls are answered by professionally trained volunteers. We available to the poor and needy in our community, those who would not otherwise be in a position to afford professional counseling.
