To see every baby born in the community adequately clothed and provided for.
Waikato
Loving Arms began in the outside room of just one individual after helping out just one mum. Fast forward to 2020 Loving Arms Charitable Trust helped 626 Waikato families by donating over half a million dollars worth of clothing, nappies, bedding and larger items such as cots and car seats. This year (2021) we are tracking to reach over 1000 families with close to a million dollars’ worth of essential baby items.
Not only do we help families in need we provide an in home post-natal care service called Kaiawhina. Our Kaiawhina are there to provide good old-fashioned support for new mums in their own home…just like having a mum or grandma popping in on you and giving you a hand.
We also provide a drop-in space for new mums or mums-to-be (called Baby in Arms) so they can feel seen and heard and ask questions of one of our Kaiawhina or talk through any issues they maybe facing. Here they are treated to a cuppa, homebaking and a friendly non-judgemental ear to listen.
We have a couple of other services in the pipeline to support and encourage our families that will be on offer in the near future…..so stay tuned.
To see every baby born in the community adequately clothed and provided for and every new mother and family adequately cared for and supported.
