Māngere 275 Times

275 Times is a transformative Māngere media initiative dedicated to enriching and elevating our vibrant community by sharing its compelling narratives and equipping locals with connectivity tools and a powerful voice.

As well as having a popular social media following, a vital part of 275 Times is our printed monthly edition.

We have been going since 2014 but only this year have been registered as a charity. We need YOUR HELP to ensure this initiative is successful and to help with on-going costs such as printing, distribution, media equipment, training and mentorship for aspiring Māngere youth eager to contribute.

The reason we believe a physical, hard-copy tool like this is so vital, is that it creates a semi-permanent record of events and stories which will be more valued by our community than digital content which is more quickly forgotten about.

We believe a monthly magazine is a key aspect to achieve our initiative’s overall aims - which is to provide useful and empowering information as well as giving young people real-world opportunities that will prepare them for employment in the media. Lastly, Mangere has historically had low engagement in civic activities, this has meant our community often misses out on vital funds (e.g. low Census turn-outs). Through Māngere's 275 Times, we aim to increase community engagement in these vital activities.
