Help us keep supporting youth in Selwyn who need wrap-around support!
Rolleston, Canterbury
Moral Compass is a registered charity based in based in Rolleston, but serving the wider Selwyn Community. We provide wrap-around support to at-risk and disadvantaged young people aged 13–25 who are struggling with behavioural, academic, or personal challenges. Moral Compass was registered as a charitable trust (CC58855) in 2021 and has been growing in capacity ever since. Our mission is to guide youth in discovering their own 'moral compass' — empowering them with confidence, emotional strength, and a vision for their future. We believe every young person deserves the chance to grow in a supportive, inspiring environment. At Moral Compass, we help them find direction and realise their potential. At Moral Compass we provide several different activities ranging from individual short mentoring sessions, day activities and overnight trips, along with work experience opportunities. As well as group talks in schools and local community groups. We also support families in need through food provision via community groups and churches. We work closely with the Youth Justice System, Ministry of Education, and other agencies to engage youth in our area who need the most support. These agencies refer their most complex cases to us when traditional approaches fail. Many of our young people come from gang-exposed households, generational trauma, and poverty. We meet them in that gap — and we get results. We don't run a programme. We build a relationship — and that's what changes lives.
Moral Compass is an outdoor education initiative, designed to teach hunting, survival and life skills.
It is also a mentoring programme, developing essential character traits to survive and thrive through life’s challenges.
