Napier Skating Club needs your help to provide the World Class Park that Napier Deserves.
Hawke's Bay
Napier Skating Club has a 100 year history providing a venue for wheel sport in Napier. Sadly in July of last year we were evicted from our Marine Parade site by our local council so they could build a new Skatepark. We were 'helped' into new premises by Napier City Council where we spent all our remaining money to develop a pop up skate park - only to be informed two days before opening that the building that Napier City Council supplied is not up to code for opening to the public. Add to this most of our big ramps were 'borrowed' by the council for the new park and then unceremoniously dumped just before opening at the sewerage treatment plant and the fact our club was meant to be part of the new development then also pushed aside we are currently between a rock and a hard place. The new park they have built is not a patch on what we had, ours was rated top 15 in the world - by world champions. We are determined to rise again and provide the facility we know we can once more - a WORLD CLASS SK8PARK - but we need help to do so. We need funds to get our current location up to code and also to address the legal issues we have with council regarding their treatment of our club, and ask please for your donations, any amount would be appreciated. Here is a link to one story on us - many more can be seen on our facebook page
