Newtown Festival is Aotearoa’s biggest free music festival and street fair in the heart of Newtown with 420 stalls, 15 stages and over 150 music and dance performances!

Due to changes in the COVID-19 alert levels on Saturday 27 February, Newtown Festival made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the event on Sunday 7 March in order to keep our community safe.

We’re now so excited to announce that Newtown Festival 2021 is now confirmed for Sunday 11th April! 💙🌞💙

Our many collaborators, stallholders and artists have been amazing in rallying behind this new date. This is actually our 25th Newtown Festival in the street, and we’re grateful to get the chance to be able to celebrate this milestone! Expect to see many of the performers and stallholders you were looking forward to on our new date.

We're so touched by the outpouring of aroha and support towards a postponement. While we’ve been working through the logistics of this, there will be added costs. Keeping this a free event for the community at its heart is fundamental to the kaupapa of the Festival, and we’d so appreciate your support!

We can’t wait to throw open our suburb on 11th April so that the Newtown community, happy punters, creative stallholders and fabulous musicians can experience the joy that is Newtown Festival 2021. See you there!!
