Nyingje is a Tibetan word. It means compassion. Compassion is the wish for beings to be free from suffering. Funds donated go to the needy in Mungod (India) to support education of young children, the purchase of hospital equipment, and to feed and sterilize street dogs. Funds are directly and personally distributed by a Buddhist lama, Geshe Dhonam, who resides in NZ but travels regularly home to Mungod.
Current fundraising project 22 June 2025
Currently we are raising funds to enable the build of a tailoring room for the women who live in the Tibetan Refugee settlement in Mundgod India. For this project we need to raise $13,000. We have been working hard and are proud to say we have $2000 to raise before the building can go ahead.
Dear Val and Birnie, thank you so much for your kind donation to our Trust. We are very grateful. At the moment we are raising money for a Tailoring Room to be built in the Refugee Settlement in Mundgod India. This room will be for the women of the settlement to learn the skills of tailoring so they can become more self sufficient. It is a big undertaking for us to raise the $12,000 required for the tailoring room as we are a very small Trust, so your donation was hugely appreciated by us. Thank you so much. Our email address is nyingjetrust@gmail.com should you wish to contact us directly. If you would like to go on our mailing list we would love that too. Thank you once again Trustees, Sheryn, Joanne, Jennifer, Nichole Aria.
