The Foundation

The Osteopathic Children's Foundation Charitable Trust (OCF) was established by a group of passionate people committed to making osteopathy accessible to children across New Zealand. Cost is one of the biggest barriers to access, and overcoming it is at the heart of everything we do.

Our focus is threefold: providing free osteopathic care for children through clinics in Hamilton, Wellington, and Auckland; funding research, teaching, and educational activities that advance free osteopathic and complementary health services for children; and supplying equipment and resources to hospitals and healthcare organisations delivering free osteopathic care.

Why we do this

Every child deserves better health — and osteopathy helps children in more ways than most people realise. There's a common misconception that children are young and flexible and therefore free of musculoskeletal issues. In reality, almost every health condition has a mechanical component, whether as a cause or a consequence of physical and physiological problems. Osteopathy is the science of identifying these factors and supporting the body in addressing them. It's not an alternative to conventional medicine — it's a gentle, holistic, and safe complement to mainstream healthcare.

How your support helps

Funds raised go directly towards running free clinics where children can access world-class osteopathic care, and towards the equipment that makes it possible — treatment tables, examination tools, and a welcoming environment for young patients. Our osteopaths and board members donate their time for free, so every dollar goes to the children who need it.
