Paws Crossed Cat Rescue

Help us to help cats and kitten’s in the Dunedin area.

Otago

Paws Crossed Cat Rescue Charitable Trust is focused on the spey/neuter and microchipping of Dunedin's cats.

We focus on the cats and kittens that are posted as "free" on social media sites and assist with the spey/neuter of any cats that will be remaining at the properties where cats or kittens have been surrendered into our care.

We also help any cats and kittens that are abandoned and receive many calls from the public for help each week.

We spey/neuter, vaccinate, microchip and microchip register all cats and kittens in our care before they are adopted out to forever homes.

Our goal is to reduce the number of stray and unwanted cats in the Dunedin area by tackling the problem where it begins.

We also plan to start running seminars on the importance of spey/neuter and microchipping as well as basic education on animal care in the community.

We are also helping the public with the spey/neuter of their cat/kitten where they are struggling with the costs involved

Busy times  14 February 2021

Good morning everyone sorry there haven't been a lot of updates lately it's been very busy here with kittens, cats, adoptions, vet visits, helping members of the public getting their furbabies spey/castrated,microchip scanning strays. Not enough hours in the day unfortunately. We have had some amazing families/people contacting us about stray families/kittens that they have already semi domesticated which has made our job easier with catching them and getting them ready for their new forever homes so a big thank you to all of you. Please if you have any cats/kittens you need help with don't dump/leave behind or leave to turn wild we are still available to help you but it won't be as quickly as we normally are able to as we are near capacity. This kitten season has been even more busy than previous because of COVID19 as speying/castration wasn't able to be done during lockdown/ until level 2, the Veterinary Clinics did their absolute best to catch up when they were allowed to start doing these again but they just didn't have enough time to get the backlog sorted before this season started.

Any donations would be appreciated while we deal with this extremely busy time, we are running low on flea treatments, crates, litter and of course our vet bill is is growing faster than we can get it paid.
