People First members are the voice of the organisation. Members are assisted to speak up about the issues people with learning disability face in New Zealand to the Government, local Councils, Service Providers, within communities and in our own lives.
10 years as an independent self advocacy organisation in New Zealand People First now has over 30 local groups and the largest group of emerging leaders we have ever had. Weekly, new opportunities come up across the country for members to represent the organisation in communities and be the voice of people with learning disability in New Zealand.

People First New Zealand is a self advocacy organisation that is led and directed by people with learning (intellectual) disability. People First is part of an international movement fighting for the rights and inclusion of all people with learning disability.
People First New Zealand Inc. Nga Tangata Tuatahi is here to empower and support people with learning disability to be strong and valued individuals in New Zealand.
