Hawke's Bay
Founded in 1978 Pleroma has a long history of helping individuals and families in Central Hawke's Bay. Our vision is: Inspired Individuals, Thriving Families, Healthy Communities.
We work with individuals and families to help them overcome the obstacles they are facing, to teach them skills, to help them care for themselves and their children well, and much more.
By intervening early and supporting families we work to prevent abuse, violence, suicide and a myriad of social problems that develop when children are not cared for well.
One of the key areas that we work in is giving adults and young people the skills and knowledge to manage their anger and to get out of the cycle of abuse and violence - whether they are an abuser or a victim. We work with many courageous people who are stepping up to become Violence Free.

Pleroma Social Services is a charitable organisation providing services to the Central Hawke's Bay Community.
We provide support to individuals and families who are seeking to make changes in their lives and the lives of their families. Our Services include Counselling, Social Work Support and Youth Programmes.
All our services are provided free of charge. We believe that finances should never be a barrier to someone receiving help when they need it.
In the 12 months to June 2016 we helped over 300 people with a wide range of issues including:
- Building Resilience
- Preventing and recovering from Family Violence
- Processing Grief
- Learning Parenting Skills
- Managing Anger
- Preventing Child Abuse and much more
