Bringing dislocated refugee families back together again by financially assisting with travel costs when family of the New Zealand resident refugee have been granted residence by Immigration New Zealand but do not have the means to pay the cost of travel to New Zealand.
ReUnite Trust have assisted with travel costs for reuniting seven families totalling 30 people altogether, having raised over $36,000 to do so. The families came from Ethiopia, Sudan, Bhutan, Somalia and Eritrea. Refugee family reunification is key to successful resettlement and it is a major factor for achieving good health, wellbeing and participation
