Rimutaka Forest Park Trust

The Rimutaka Forest Park Trust is a volunteer organisation, committed to preserving and restoring the natural and historic resources of the

Wellington

We have teams of volunteers trapping pests, restoring hills scarred by pine logging, tracking and monitoring kiwi, monitoring bird call counts and taking care of the day to day running of the trust.

The current kiwi population in the park sits around 70. We have several successful breeding pairs in the park and a low predation level. The catchpool valley has several 'nodes' of new native planting and this is beginning to cover some of the logging scarred hills.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
