We have teams of volunteers trapping pests, restoring hills scarred by pine logging, tracking and monitoring kiwi, monitoring bird call counts and taking care of the day to day running of the trust.
The current kiwi population in the park sits around 70. We have several successful breeding pairs in the park and a low predation level. The catchpool valley has several 'nodes' of new native planting and this is beginning to cover some of the logging scarred hills.
