R.E.R.T. is a community based rescue team & are often found helping local community groups with their Events & Promotions. The Team promotes community resilience & the Get Thru Program that supports the Community in there preparation in an emergency.The Team is committed to training 3 hours every week to keep a high level of expertise Current.

R.E.R.T mainly focuses on General Urban Search & Rescue, but also has capability in Flood, Storm & Rope Response as well as other deployment options. The Team works closely with the other Response Teams as well as the Professional teams such as Police, Fire & Ambulance Services.

Rotorua emergency response team (R.E.R.T) was formed in July 1987 with 12 members following the destructive earthquake at Edgecumbe. The team was officially registered with the ministry of civil defence ino August 2005 as an urban search & rescue team, now nationally registered as a civil defence response team - NZRT15, we are a not for profit charity who are here to serve the Rotorua area and the greater bay of plenty region. NZRT15 is totally self funded we rely on grants and donations to stay operational so thank you in advance!
