SOBCT, turning pain into purpose by supporting survivors and running impactful community initiatives that uplift protect and empower whānau
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
SOBCT is a three-generation whānau-led trust dedicated to raising awareness around domestic violence, sexual abuse, self-harm, and suicide. We provide guidance, support, and free local lunches to help our community feel seen, safe, and supported.
Our Founder’s Story:
Kahira Rata Olley MNZM, a 55-year-old survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence, endured 25 years of trauma before turning her pain into purpose. Her courage led to the creation of SOBCT, a place where survivors and whānau can find understanding, connection, and hope. What began as one woman’s healing journey is now a legacy carried through three generations.
