We connect communities to deliver Christmas koha to tamariki across Aotearoa who could do with an extra smile. Donate to help us give more.
2021 signups aren't open yet - but we need your help now to grow this community kaupapa to give even more smiles to even more tamariki. There are so many more tamariki who need to know the community has their back. Please donate to help us reach them.
Shoebox Christmas Aotearoa provides positive experiences in the form of Christmas gifts for children in low socio-economic situations. We also provide Stationery Starter Packs for new college/intermediate starters and pamper packs for mothers who's whānau we help through Women's Refuge.
In 2021 working with 14 regions from Waihōpai (Invercargill) to Whakatāne.
This year we're also piloting a coaching and mentoring framework to enable young people to lead their own projects within their own community. We need your help to make that happen!
We work with community groups and low decile schools to do this because we know the more positive experiences our tamariki receive, the more likely they are to make positive decisions later in life.
We’ve been running the project in Wellington since 2014. By the end of 2020 we have delivered over 38,300 positive experiences to tamariki in need across those areas.
The project has more referrals from schools and the community year on year and growing to reach that need is where your donations help.
Please note this isn't a donation page to buy Shoebox Christmas gifts, though we'll use some of the money for that if there are more missing gifts at the end of the year than what we have back-up gifters for, this page is to help with operational costs such as website hosting, bulk email and text costs etc.
Ngā mihi nui, Pera and the Shoebox Christmas whānau.
