The Southern Cancer Society Trust provides support to any local person with any cancer and their families.
Nationwide
Your donation makes a valuable contribution to supporting the work of the Cancer Society. Since 1929 we have provided free support services and information for people affected by cancer and their families. One in three New Zealanders will be affected by cancer in their lifetime and we are here to support anyone with any cancer.
Our registered charity number is CC62920.
The Southern Cancer Society looks after clients and families in the Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland provinces in New Zealand.
The Cancer Society receives no direct Government funding, and we rely on local community support to provide our free services to anyone with any cancer.
Your donation will contribute to the services we offer to cancer patients and their families. These include providing practical and emotional support, free accommodation in our Daffodil House in Dunedin and the Canterbury Cancer Centre in Christchurch, free transport to treatment appointments, advocacy, financial support, counselling and any other information they may need.
Your support not only contributes to the initiatives mentioned above but also funds essential research through post-doctoral fellowships and PhD scholarships. This research encompasses new treatments and drugs, detection and prevention methods, quality of life improvements, survivorship, and equity measures aimed at creating a future free from cancer.
