A non-profit, community preschool relying heavily on fundraising to help us to provide quality childcare for the families in our community.

St Albans Community Preschool is a non-profit preschool that has a long history in the suburb of St Albans and we strive to give as much back to the community as we can. Our core teachers have over 50 years of experience between them. Their passion for early childhood education and dedication to the preschool's values of respect, individual well-being and sense of family, is something the we are very grateful for.

We have been waiting 7 years for earthquake repairs to be done on our building and it is finally happening! The repairs only cover our inside space, however, our outside space is in dire need of a renovation - something that we just can not afford on our own. With funding at a premium these days, we have decided to reach out to the wider community for help.

Any financial help, large or small, could make a huge difference for us and we are greatly appreciative of any donations that we receive. They will allow us to continue to fulfill our vision and philosophy.

Our vision: To ensure that children have a childhood full of play adventure and investigation. To create a learning environment that is a reflection of our commitment to continually building reciprocal relationships within our community.

Our philosophy: St Albans Community Preschool is a positive and nurturing environment. We encourage children to learn and grow by recognising and supporting each child’s individuality, curiosity, cooperation, independence, and creativity. The children’s exploration is guided and supported by qualified, experienced teachers whose curriculum engages family and whanau. We are responsive to the strengths, interests and learning needs of each child. We document the children’s work and experiences to inspire the sharing of information among teachers, family members, and peers. We seek open communication with parents and whanau in order to match families’ aspirations for the children with our learning programmes.

More about us

We are a small community preschool in St Albans with a big heart! Our vision is to ensure that children have a childhood full of play adventure and investigation and to create a learning environment that is a reflection of our commitment to continually building reciprocal relationships within our community.

St Albans Community Preschool - what an absolute gem. The quality of teachers is outstanding...in fact they are more than "teachers": they are nurturers, they give our children wings to fly, they are home away from home.

We are so very lucky to be a part of this village of teachers and families. It’s been a wonderful journey over to Champion Street and it will be exciting returning to the new/old preschool this year. X
