STEP UP TARANAKI

Help get Taranaki dancing and raise much needed funds for Young Peoples Trust and South Taranaki Hospice.

Taranaki

Stepup Taranaki is a charitable foundation raising money for the Taranaki Young People’s Trust and the South Taranaki Hospice.

How are we doing it? By dancing!

We’ve taken our cameras to the streets of Taranaki, filming local people, businesses and organisations busting a move to the hit song ‘Poi E’.

‘Poi E’ is the irresistibly catchy song created by renowned linguist Ngoi Pewhairangi and Dalvanius Prime. Performed by the Patea Maori Club, it went number one in the music charts in 1984, made a brief comeback in 2009, and got to Number Three in 2010, making it the only New Zealand song to chart over three decades. Will it get back to Number One again? It will, with your help, and we can raise funds for two essential services at the same time!

Stepup Taranaki will be filming at various locations throughout the Taranaki region. As well as raising money for young people at risk and palliative care, we’ll also be vying for the title of the Largest Choreographed Dance Video in the World!

Keep an eye out in the media for our next choreographed dance-off. We need your help!

THANK YOU!
