Te Tapuwae O Rakau Trust - native ecological restoration of the Port Hills and surrounding Christchurch area
Christchurch, Canterbury
Te Tapuwae O Rakau Environmental Trust is dedicated to preserving and restoring the natural landscapes of Ōtautahi, Christchurch. Our aim is to plant 10 million NZ native trees/plants over the next 20 years while inspiring, motivating and educating present and future generations.
To achieve our aim, we have three key strategic goals for the organisation. Our latest initiative involves establishing a plant nursery to support our conservation efforts. The nursery will serve as a vital resource for propagating native plants essential for ecological restoration projects and community-based conservation efforts. Initial funding will be used to support the development and operation of the nursery.
Our other two strategic goals of ecosystem restoration and community engagement enable us to support habitat restoration projects as well as engaging with our local communities to build awareness of environmental stewardship
We need your help to support our initiatives and reach our aim of planting 10 million trees within the Canterbury region. Any support you can provide is much appreciated and if you are keen to get involved in a volunteer capacity with the organisation please visit our website and sign-up to our volunteer program
