Help us cover the cost of repair and refurbishment of our very first property to serve the community of Sydenham and greater Christchurch.
Canterbury
We are actively raising funds towards the cost of repair and refurbishment of our first property. Located in the heart of Sydenham, we hope to see this serve as a home for The Well Church, but also a gathering place for our community. With very few community spaces available in the surrounding area, we think this will serve as a wonderful asset to our community.

HOW’S THE BUILDING COMING ALONG? WHEN WILL WE MOVE IN? 27 March 2017
On 26 August 2015, The Well settled and took possession of our first permanent home. Following the property purchase came 12 months of planning and consent process involving our architect, engineers, appointing a contractor, applying for consent, making revisions to consent application, and finally receiving both Resource Consent and Building Consent from the Christchurch City Council.
Our building contractor moved on-site in August 2016 and the building works began. The scope of works focused on structural strengthening to ensure a safe building that exceeds the building code and to create a warm and inviting entranceway to the facilities. We suffered a 3-4 week delay in receiving some building materials from the North Island (delay due to Kaikoura earthquake) but have otherwise run close to schedule.
After 19 months we are in the final stages of preparing the facilities for our move. At this stage, we anticipate our first worship gathering in the new facilities to be on Sunday, 21 May 2017 with an official building opening and dedication to follow (date TBD).
