We link people who want to volunteer with not-for-profit organisations that involve volunteers. We offer support, training, and information about all aspects of volunteering. We advocate on behalf of volunteers and voluntary organisations, and present Awards to outstanding volunteers. Our website and monthly newsletter give information about relevant events and issues.

Since opening in 1988 we have registered over 19,000 volunteers, many of whom are from non-English speaking backgrounds. We have 268 organisational members. Our Employee Volunteering Programme assists and advises businesses on encouraging and supporting their employees to carry out voluntary work.
