West Auckland Riding for the Disabled provide horse riding therapy for children with challenges which affect their quality of life.
Auckland
We provide weekly horse riding therapy for children with a wide range of disabilities and challenges. Horse riding benefits children with physical disabilities through the movement of the horse which improves their balance, postural control, co-ordination, strength, mobility, circulation and brain function. Children with developmental problems benefit by improving their perceptual-motor skills, concentration, communication, confidence and social skills.
West Auckland RDA (previously known as Henderson RDA) has been operating for over 40 years and demand for our service has grown. We receive referrals from Health Board therapists, schools, social workers, and directly from parents as well. Our horses are specifically trained for RDA work. We are affiliated with the New Zealand Riding for the Disabled Association.
Your donation will go towards the care of our horses and equipment for the children. Thank you so much!
We provide therapeutic horse-riding activities for young people with physical, intellectual, emotional or social challenges.
