Whakaangi Landcare Trust is a registered charity managing a biodiversity project covering 2000ha near Hihi in the Far North. We protect NZ's northern most population of North Island Brown Kiwi. All donations are used directly in our pest and predator control work. Every week, every year, we have 1 dedicated trapper working to keep the predators at bay. We run advocacy programmes with local schools and provide a free "Know Your Dog Workshop" for dog owners. Funding is always scarce and the more we can attract, the greater our impact can be. Dog Awareness Programme 2 October 2015
We are currently (Oct 2015 onwards) seeking to fund a dog awareness campaign in our region. We will erect permanent signs throughout our region, plus education information and programme to engage dog owners. This also includes giving back through our Kiwi Aversion Training for dogs (next instance is 17 October). This positive message campaign will cost $4,500 and so this is the amount we need to raise.
