Whakaangi Landcare Trust is a registered charity managing a biodiversity project covering 1600ha near Hihi in the Far North. We protect NZ's northern most population of North Island Brown Kiwi. All donations are used directly in our pest and predator control work. Every week, every year, we have 2 dedicated trappers working to keep the predators at bay. We run advocacy programmes with local schools and provide dog aversion training to ensure dogs don't attack kiwi. Funding is always scarce and the more we can attract, the greater our impact can be. You can see more from us at www.whakaangi.kiwi and https://www.facebook.com/KiwisOfWhakaangi
Currently (Oct 2015), we're seeking funding (up to $4,500) to help us roll out our dog education programme (permanent awareness signs etc) throughout our region.
