Whangārei Bird Recovery Centre

Whangārei Bird Recovery Centre

Whangārei Native Bird Recovery Centre is a Northland charity that rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured birds

Whangarei, Northland

Founded in 1992, Whangārei Native Bird Recovery Centre is a Northland charity caring for sick and injured wild birds, from small songbirds to kiwi and seabirds. Our aim is to help each bird recover and return to the wild.

Care can involve veterinary treatment, pain relief, antibiotics and specialist food. We also educate school and community groups and the wider community about native birds and the importance of protecting them.

Our work is supported by dedicated volunteers and the generosity of people who care about Northland’s birds.
